Mudslide again, two workers rescued in Kozhikode

Two labourers were rescued in a second incident of mudslide at a construction site in Kozhikode

Kozhikode: The mud slid again. Labourers got trapped again. The only respite this time, no lives were lost. Within a span of a few days, a second case of mudslide was reported from a construction site near Corporation Ayurveda Hospital on Annie Hall Road, in Kozhikode. Two labourers who were trapped under the debris were rescued by other labourers and fire force. One of them has been admitted in Medical College Hospital and the other in Beach Hospital.

The injured have been identified as Rajesh Roy (22), and Deepak Roy (22), both hailing from West Bengal. It is reported that rescue operations took hours to complete. Police have registered a case of man slaughter.

In a similar incident, a mudslide was reported from the construction site of a 10-storey residential cum shopping complex neat Stadium Junction on Ram Mohan Road. Two labourers were killed in the mishap that had taken place on Thursday around 4 pm.
